Hey there, I'm Tasha! I've always loved the outdoors, from fishing to camping, but my true passion for hiking began in my 20's while exploring the trails of Central Texas including Austin, TX. Over the years, hiking has become more than just an activity- it's my therapy. The solitude of the trail, the physical challenge, and the way nature recharges my mind and soul have made it an essential part of my life.
Through this blog, I share hiking and backpacking tips, trail guides, backpacking advice, and personal stories to inspire others to embrace the outdoors. Whether you’re looking for a mental reset, an adventure, or a way to push yourself physically, I hope my experiences encourage you to step outside and discover the power of nature. Join me as I explore breathtaking trails, tackle challenges, and celebrate the joy and healing of the great outdoors- one step at a time!
Exploring Caprock Canyon State Park
If you had asked me in my twenties why I liked hiking, I’d probably have said something like “I love moving my body” or “I enjoy being outside”, which are valid reasons. However, the reason why I hike has evolved over the years. Nowadays, it’s a necessity. It’s necessary for the clarity it brings me, how I feel recharged after letting the wind graze my skin and inhaling the fresh air while sitting under the trees, or how I can feel the healing powers of nature. This is why I hike; to heal, to slow down, and to think it all out. This is how I show up better for the people in my life, and to feel connected and grounded. I want to encourage and share this feeling with others through my adventures. Showing how you can heal, grow, and navigate through life, even if the path isn’t always clear.
